Blogger I Follow: Maine Mendoza

I was randomly brainstorming with myself about blogging ideas, when I was suddenly reminded of someone who blogs (even before she became a celebrity). Would you like to guess who she is?

Yup. It is 'that girl' — Maine Mendoza.

Admiring Her in My Own Way

I like her for so many things, but the big chunks of it will definitely fall into her charming smile, her youthful laughter, the way she carry herself with confidence, and her [familiar] escape through writing.

I typed mainemendoza.com directly into the browser and surprised by the new look of her blog which made me think: when was the last time I visited her blog? Ah, when she posted her 'Open Letter to Our Fans' where she poured her heart out.

Seeing her did it reminded me that as a blogger, we have this frustration to express our thoughts so badly.
We are desperately dying to be heard, to be understood, or to simply get something out of our chest.
Reading that blog post made me admire her more. That girl, I can't help but smile.

Pessimistic Optimistic Bella Blog

Yup. That's her blog's name. Intriguing, right?

What can I say? We all have some pessimism deep within ourselves. She's no exception. She acknowledged that, but at the same time, she still made sure that even though life isn't always fair, she will always find a bright way out [optimism]. That's the kind of Bella [girl] she is.

That's how I understand her blog (it's okay if you have other interpretation of it).

Maine Writes Poetry, Too

I really, really love this poem that Maine Mendoza recently wrote, and I quoted a few lines:
I write when I am feeling everything
I also write when I feel nothing
I write the things that went wrong
And the things that could have been right
[Ah, you are touching heartstrings with your words. I'm in awe as to how relatable it can be.] Tell me, how to write just like that?

A New Look for Maine's Blog

Woah — that's the word that came out of my mouth when I saw her blog again. In my mind, I noted:
  • Oh, she's still using WordPress, but new theme, I think, and it's quite classy actually
  • I like her new logo (a portrait of her with that red lipstick)
  • The layout seems to be a bit plain or missing a few widgets [than before] — still under construction, I think
That's when I stumbled upon her latest post: First #MemaEntry of 2018. She greeted her readers a happy new year and shared her 'post-a-pic-of-you-from-2012&2017-and-see-how-much-you've-change' pictures — go to her blog post to find out.

Still need help with the blog layouts?

By the end of her post, she mentioned that she's looking for someone who creates blog layouts since she still need to modify the plain layout of her blog. The entry was posted on January 7, so you might have found someone already.

This message might never even reach you, but if you still need someone, I can help you with the blog layouts. I already mentioned you in Twitter, but it's difficult to hope that you will be able to read that. I'll try to send an email to you after writing this blog post, too [I'm crossing my fingers!]. I hope it'll reach you somehow.

As a blogger, it excites me to help you out in improving your blog. I'll do it for free [or for a few selfies with you].

Did I Just Wrote A Blog Post Successfully?

I can't believe I've written so much tonight. There's no doubt that visiting your online space was a worthy, inspiration boost, Maine. I want you to know that I'm thankful for that.

Take care.

One of your fans,
Angel Lea

Where to Watch Korean Dramas?

A new version of this blog post has been published on my new blog. Check it here. If you read my blog page about Korean dramas , you'll know that I mainly watch Kdrama series at VIU ( it's free , or you can subscribe for premium membership if you want additional perks). I was actually surprised to find out recently that their premium is now available for all networks (Globe, TM, Smart, Sun). That's why I'm making this post. I used the VIU mobile app since mid of last year and has been a premium member since December of 2017. 5 Good Reasons Why I Like Watching Kdramas at viu [1] Optimized layout for easy viewing Take a look at the website layout. It is very user-friendly, allows you to select the episode easily, and is not cluttered with ads. Same goes for the layout of their mobile app . I'm just a mobile data prepaid user, and as with my experience in streaming, it rarely stop and buff. Great viewing experience (but of course your internet speed i

Wotaku ni Koi wa Muzukashii (Manga)

Meeting Hirotaka and Narumi In a fortunate day of Feb 26, 2018, I crossed paths with these two Otakus — Hirotaka Nifuji and Narumi Momose — at Lit Manga and Anime page.
