Why do I Love Korean Dramas?

I came to like Korean dramas because of Endless Love: Autumn in My Heart, the first drama I watched. But I was also fascinated by sageuk series, these were the shows in a historical backdrop, like Queen Seon Deok. I don't know about you, but I love their hanbok (traditional costumes), especially the ones in Joseon era, and the culture and design embodied in their homes, palaces, and temples. I dreamed of wearing one of those someday. Ha!

Me watching K-Dramas during that time was limited to the shows aired in Philippine TV, until I crossed paths with Love in the Moonlight series, where my love for Korean dramas started to become a regular habit. That's when I started looking for other sources so I can watch.

Love in the Moonlight series

There were times that it felt like I was reincarnated from a Japanese or Korean blood, just because of my deep interest in both cultures. (Although a nun once looked at me and told me that like her, I have some Chinese blood in me — cue: my eyes)

Anyways, before we went too far from the topic, let me show you the list of Korean Dramas I've watched up until now (Let me try to remember everything).

Oppa or Story Plot?

I have no intention to offend someone, but I simply don't watch Korean dramas to see cute, handsome guys. I also have no desire to call any Korean actor as an Oppa. They're all yours if you want (because I have my own). *wink*

I watch Korean dramas for their cool, intriguing, and interesting stories, plots, costumes, and settings. And yes, I should admit, I admire Korean actresses more than the actors (there's nothing wrong with me, I assure you, haha).

Where do I Watch Korean Dramas?

I am currently watching Korean dramas in VIU for free — it's both a website / mobile app. Premium membership applies if you like to use all of its features (that includes unlimited download for offline viewing, access to Korean movies, and other Asian series and movies, etc)!

What I really like about VIU is the placements of their ads on their website / app. Unlike the other streaming websites with cluttered ads which pop here and there, VIU strategically placed their ads on the right spot, without annoying the viewers. Their desktop website is designed pretty great, too.

Note: The VIU website works on a limited set of countries only.

Where to Watch Korean Dramas?

A new version of this blog post has been published on my new blog. Check it here. If you read my blog page about Korean dramas , you'll know that I mainly watch Kdrama series at VIU ( it's free , or you can subscribe for premium membership if you want additional perks). I was actually surprised to find out recently that their premium is now available for all networks (Globe, TM, Smart, Sun). That's why I'm making this post. I used the VIU mobile app since mid of last year and has been a premium member since December of 2017. 5 Good Reasons Why I Like Watching Kdramas at viu [1] Optimized layout for easy viewing Take a look at the website layout. It is very user-friendly, allows you to select the episode easily, and is not cluttered with ads. Same goes for the layout of their mobile app . I'm just a mobile data prepaid user, and as with my experience in streaming, it rarely stop and buff. Great viewing experience (but of course your internet speed i

Wotaku ni Koi wa Muzukashii (Manga)

Meeting Hirotaka and Narumi In a fortunate day of Feb 26, 2018, I crossed paths with these two Otakus — Hirotaka Nifuji and Narumi Momose — at Lit Manga and Anime page.
